After three decades of operating in the basement of the Federal City Shelter downtown, DC Central Kitchen will overcome our lack of space and transform our work in a best-in-class workforce development and healthy food distribution center located in the Buzzard Point neighborhood of Southwest Washington, DC.
This new facility within the RiverPoint development will allow us to triple our capacity, providing the healthy food and job training opportunities that our community needs more urgently than ever before. By 2025, our new home will enable DCCK to expand our job training by 150%, create 50 new jobs, expand our volunteer network from 16,000 to 25,000 volunteers annually, and generate over $200 million in annual financial impact for the community.
